At the heart of its design is the remote canister system, which places the gas canister away from the cooking surface. This not only improves stability by lowering the centre of gravity but also enhances safety by keeping hot components and flames clear of the fuel source. The result is a more balanced setup, especially when cooking with larger pots or in windy environments. The stove’s compact folded size of 94 x 86 x 34mm means it packs down small enough to fit inside the Petrel G2 or G3 cookware pots, making it perfectly pack-ready for any expedition.

The Petrel Remote stove features a high-performance burn rate of 2.7kW (9,213 BTU/h), enabling rapid boiling—just 1 minute and 48 seconds to bring 0.5 litres of water to a boil. With a fuel consumption of only 8.3g per 0.5L of water, it’s one of the most efficient remote stoves available, saving  weight on multi-day trips. 

Constructed from a blend of lightweight and durable materials—titanium, stainless steel, aluminium alloy, copper, and silicone—the stove is built to withstand rugged use while remaining ultra-light. The titanium components ensure corrosion resistance and long-term durability, even in wet or coastal environments. The wide, folding pot supports are designed to accommodate pots up to 8 inches in diameter and can safely support cookware weighing up to 3.5kg, offering stable cooking across a wide range of pot sizes and meal types.

The stove is compatible with standard EN417 canisters, including 110g and 230g sizes, giving you flexibility in fuel choice. It fits neatly inside the Petrel G2 pot with a 230g canister or the G3 pot when used stove-only, making it easy to carry as part of a complete, minimalist cooking system.
