The Naturehike CW280 and CWM400 are engineered for outdoor enthusiasts who demand performance, comfort, and portability on every adventure. Both are envelope-style sleeping bags, offering a balance between insulation, flexibility, and space efficiency—ideal for backpackers, hikers, and mountaineers tackling trails across the UK’s diverse landscapes, from the Lake District to the Scottish Highlands.
The CW280 is a perfect entry point into down sleeping bag technology. At 570g, it’s among the lightest options available for its warmth class. Its 800 fill power duck down provides excellent thermal efficiency, making it ideal for spring, summer, and early autumn use. The full-length YKK zipper opens completely, allowing the bag to be used as a quilt during warmer nights or shared with a partner. This versatility makes it a smart choice for lightweight backpackers who want to reduce pack weight without compromising comfort.
The CWM400 takes performance a step further. With 400g of 800FP duck down, it delivers significantly more insulation than the CW280, making it suitable for colder conditions—down to around 0°C (32°F) with additional layering. The enhanced down volume ensures superior heat retention across the entire sleeping surface. The wider 80cm shoulder width offers more room for movement, particularly beneficial for larger individuals or those who prefer a looser fit while sleeping.
Both bags feature a durable 20D/400T nylon outer fabric that resists abrasion and offers water resistance—essential for damp conditions common in the UK climate. The fabric is also soft against the skin, enhancing comfort during long nights in the wild. The inclusion of a compression sack allows for easy packing, while the breathable mesh storage bag prevents musty odours and mould when storing the bag between trips.
These sleeping bags are designed for three to four-season use. The CW280 excels in warm to mild conditions, while the CWM400 is better suited for autumn and early winter adventures, especially with layering. Their lightweight, compact nature makes them ideal for long-distance hikes, alpine trekking, or minimalist camping setups.
